Many people in their twenties do not think much about their retirement or savings in general, but I guess I’m strange and do. My favorite line in this article is… “Have a $3,000 plasma TV, but you haven’t funded a Roth IRA”?

Seriously though, I hope everyone around me learns sooner than later to manage their money, debt and make good financial decisions in their life. You may have that nice TV, Prada purse or PSP now, but is any of that really going to matter in five, ten or thirty years?

I have a simple theory on purchasing material things that has worked nicely for me over the past years. “Don’t buy anything over $100 that does not appreciate in value, does not fufill a need or will not last a lifetime”. Granted, do treat yourself every once in a while ;-)

For the record, here is my wish list:
1. Ipod
2. Plasma TV
3. Home Computer

All of which I could easily have paid for with my fully funded Roth IRA, but didn’t. Get it?… Good.
