Think fingernails on the blackboard….
Two questions, first, do you think I can get the slow spindle one as a ring tone for my phone?
And second, why don’t they have a recording of a #2 pencil’s eraser pressed up against the spinning platter? I know I have heard that before. And I know that the drive did not function after that. To be fair, the drive didn’t function very well before that either.
Ring tone, Yes i dont see why not. Just run the drive thru a dishwasher that should help.
Ahhh, the old dishwasher trick. Is that ever a bad idea?
I can’t say I have ever put an HD through a dishwasher…. I don’t think I will try that with my gear, or any gear that I am responsible for replacing. However, I have, and will attest to the ability to put an IBM model M keyboard through the dishwasher. My 1988 vintage model has been washed several times, and still clacks on with no problems, except that somewhere over the last 18 years I have lost one of the control key’s keycaps.
Maybe lost it in the dishwasher??
