So i wanted to try a new type of post, we can play with the names real or fake, fact or fiction whatever. And have a debate whether the topic is real or not (actually I like that title). Part Mythbusters, dash of mystery, and the aroma of conspiracy.

Damn Im hungry now.

So here is the first one. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

The Time Travel Fund

  1. Its definately real. Now, would I put my money into an account? I am not so sure about that. I mean, $10 isn’t a lot of money, but I don’t think that I will ever have someone appear infront of me and say, “Hey, remember that $10 you spent on the web last week? Well, we are here to bring you to the future. It took us longer than expected, but you don’t really need to know that, because its only been a week in your timeline.” Although, let me throw this out there, if anybody wants to come back in time and get me, I will willingly put $10 into the account before you take me into the future. And, as it all works out, the money will have been there all along in your timeline.

  2. If you believe that, I know of a former General in Nigeria that would like to talk to you.

  3. Not real.
String Theory does describe wormholes with could be used for time travel, but the resulting wormholes are to small to let even protons through. But wormholes are hypothetical, String Theory, while it describes existing phenomena, has not made a verifiable prediction, a hallmark of a scientific theory. There are on going experiments, specifically targeted at gravity waves. Maybe the world’s most powerful particle accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider, which will begin operation outside Geneva in the next year, will provide some answers.

Want to go to the past? Causal Loops create a number of chronology problems. For example, what happens if you go back in time and kill your mother. “Consider the time traveler who leaps ahead a year and reads about a new mathematical theorem in a future edition of Scientific American. He notes the details, returns to his own time and teaches the theorem to a student, who then writes it up for Scientific American. The article is, of course, the very one that the time traveler read. The question then arises: Where did the information about the theorem come from?” 1

There is a proven way to travel to the future using a phenomenon called Time Dilation. To use Time Dilation you would leave the earth accelerating to near the speed of light, relative to the earth. When you return, depending on how close to the speed of light you come and how long time passes for you, you could for example, return after a year to find your twin now twice your age or that a thousand years has passed. However this travel would be self initiated. I guess you could still put 10 dollars into an account, where it would grow on earth during your thousand years absence, while you aged only a year.

A good article on time travel.

  4. I definitely believe the people running the site think it’s real. I don’t necessarily believe it myself but the people running that site think it’s legit.

  5. The real question is can it postively be proven as a hoax? We have many intelligent minds here, is there a way to test it one way or the other.

As for the Generals in Nigeria that can be a proven hoax.

  6. The available science says it, as in someone from the future coming to the past to ‘rescue’ me and take me to the future, is highly improbable.

  7. I admit to being a proud geek, but this discussion is slipping into “I live in my parent’s basement and stay up late surfing chat rooms debating star wars trivia territory.” Let’s break this down… There is money and “time travel” involved… It’s either a hoax or a scam. Debate on scientific theory of time travel or any related subjects does not belong on a website that even suggests such a hair brained idea.

    My apologizes, I’m cranky today…

  8. FIVE Words: “BACK TO THE FUTURE” BABY!!!!! All right, gigity, gigity, gig-it-ty!!!!!

  9. Anonymous says:

36 billion dollars is quite a bit, now. In 500 years(not real) might only get you a loaf of bread.
just look at the movies “in the day” your talking a nickel for 2 shows, now your looking at nine/ten dollars.

  10. Greets to the webmaster of this wonderful site! Keep up the good work. Thanks.
