So, I am sure most of you already know this, but I am guessing the new Desktops will be out today. I was at the local Geek Superstore (Frye’s) yesterday, and as I passed by the Apple section, I noticed the shelfs were all empty. They had one MBP and a black and white macBook on display, but all of the desktops and external monitors were gone. So, if anyone happens to see that the apple site is updated with the new loot, let me know.

New Loot today!!! Dual-Core 64-bit Intel processors replacing G5 towers. Up to 16 GB of RAM, 2 TB of storage! 2 SuperDrives that do double-layer burning! 3 different graphic card options and can support up to 4 displays (only two of the 30 inchers though)! Holy frickin cow! Very exciting stuff, espeically excited to see Apple is not abandoning the 64-bit push. Starting price point of $2500 which is not bad. This is easily the best news out of the “Apple goes Intel” story in my opinion.
I have been working with Intel’s dual core 64-bit processes for the past week and they rock!
Up to 4 video cards, but no SLI let alone QuadSLI. I guess thats the price you pay for “Workstation”. All in all, they still are posed to be the powermachines for a while, especially because they should run any OS you want. Now with a little help from some developers hopefully we will see the mac Pro supported in Linux without bootcamp. And then a little bit of Xen loving… Heres to MacPro 2.0.
