I don’t think this is a good idea. These laws have served man kind well for 50+ years bringing a little bit of civility to the ugly business of war. I think Bush knows that he is going to lose the party majority in the house and wants to punch through another law to justify some of the administration’s mishandling of terror suspects. That being said, whether you like Bush or not you can not fault him for being inconsistent.
