Can anyone list the famous Seven Wonders of the World? It’s ok if you can’t, because now you can make history and choose sites for a new list! And even if you don’t care about lists, these finalists make for some great travel ideas….mmm….traaavelll….

  1. Who named the original 7 Wonders of the World? And does this group really have the jurisdiction to name new ones? I’m not trying to be a smart ass here, I really don’t know the history of the 7 Wonders and I really am curious about what the original person or people would have to say about this.

  2. Off the top of my head, the pyramids, the hanging gardens (of babylon?), the greek statue that guarded the port, the colliseum. Hmm, 3 more…. The Astrodome…. OK, guess I should google or something.

  3. So I did a little research online and I’m an idiot. Apparently there are several “7 Wonders” lists and pretty much anyone and everyone can make up their own. The original list, “The 7 Wonders of the Ancient World” is actually traced all the way back to medievial Europe. So…yeah…I guess anyone can make up a list. Maybe we should start our own. I nominate mr. o’s apartment for the one of a kind “food art” that dons the ceilings and walls! :)
