This is from Google Earth somewhere in Alberta, Canada. Reminds me of lying out in a field as a kid looking for shapes in the clouds.

It has been a bit of a running joke to some in our group for a while: using technology to decrease one’s own fertility. Turns out some of us may have been unknowingly doing it all along!

I haven’t actually read this whole thing yet. It’s a bit long but a very extensive and comprehensive prediction of what would happen if all human life were suddenly removed from the planet Earth. Interesting to say the least…

Morning to the masses, it another Monday morning here in sunny…. Moving on I shant bore you with the details and get to the point. I was reminded of an article I read many moons ago and found I still had a paper copy of it(contact me to see the yellowed paper version). I searched the net and found it in an online archive. Its a funny and insightful read on geek romance.

For the record, I do not agree with pretty much everything this guy says but still thought it interesting enough to post. I think where he fails is in the human factors around his theory. Especially the idea that the elite will only breed with the elite causing this change to occur. Humans have a long history of breaking social barriers when it comes to love, marriage and children and that will continue. The idea itself has already been tried with the ruling classes of Europe for hundreds of years and we’re not really any different now than we were then. And the differences we do see are based in medical technology and nutrition, not genetics. Anyway, from a purely scientific point of view, everything he says is possible but I would say it’s unlikely when the social factors are taken into account.

…but I’m much more of a Pepsi guy than a Coke guy!

As the main proprietor of this site I’m always looking for new and diverse talent to expand our site. So over the past months I have been wining and dining a number young and dynamic writers from around the internet with many different backgrounds. Well this fisherman has got another bite, today I’m pleased to announce ‘Ms. Anonymous’ joining the already brilliant and elite contributors of JohnnyV. Let me tell you it took a lot of diplomacy and bottles of Rieslings to get her here but it was worth it (I can write it all off come April right).

She is fired up to express her insightful and persuasive writing skills to a whole new community. Keep a look out for her eye opening posts on offbeat world news(and maybe some other stuff to).
